Abstract:

In the last decades the expansion of economic activity has been accompanied by the growing global environmental concerns, such as climate change, energy security and increasing scarcity of resources. In order to change the current trends, countries need to enhance productivity of resources and decouple economic growth from resource use and its influence on the environment. There is a need to find new solutions to existing problems with emphasis on a reduction of environmental impacts.
