Abstract:
Collaborative networked organizations and service oriented architecture (SOA) are some of the most commonly used solutions in order to increase the flexibility and the rapid adaptation to the market’s requirements. The two approaches of agility increase do not exclude one another but they complete each other in order to obtain a cumulative advantage. Throughout the paper, the main advantages and challenges the networked organizations are confronted with are highlighted, with an emphasis on collaborative decision making and SOA. The paper also presents a comparative analysis of the process of decision making in the collaborative environment versus the traditional environment, and it exposes aspects regarding the environment of collaborative decision making. The last chapter offers a service oriented approach of the process of collaborative decision making. The advantages offered by the service oriented approach in decision making within organizational networks are also emphasized throughout the paper.
