Abstract:
The emergence of social networks improved the web information search. Indeed, communities within a social network present a collaborative space where members learn to communicate, and to reformulate their needs to be understood. Detecting communities is of great importance in various domains especially in social data analysis. Hence, the need to detect communities occurs. Many community detection algorithms have been proposed in recent years, and the majority of these only find separate communities, but actually in real-world networks a member may belong to more than one community. This paper presents an overview and a comparison on the most popular community detection methods.
