Abstract:
In this study, we consider the suicide mortality in Turkey for the period of 2002-2011 by using both statistical and mapping analysis in order to reveal clustering of the suicide mortality in Turkey. We investigate the suicide mortality separately in males and females. For this purposes, firstly, we apply the age adjusted method to standardize the suicide mortality data. Some statistics for the suicide mortality rate are then calculated. It was found that the calculated statistics of the suicide mortality rates in Turkey are different for man and woman. Also, spatial correlation coefficient and mapping analysis are used to investigate whether there are spatial associations between the suicide mortalities. The results of analysis show that there is spatially clustering at provincial level in Turkey.
