Spatial Differentiation of the Impact of Urbanisation on Crime Rates in Poland

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to test the hypothesis that the degree of urbanisation has a significant impact on the crime rate on a local scale. The study was conducted for 380 poviats for the period 2015–2019 in Poland. From an economic point of view, urbanisation is a desirable process because it accelerates economic development and leads to the growth of various industries (Jalil H.H., Iqbal M.M., 2010).
