Abstract:

The research objective was determination of interdependences between the migration and vital statistics of cities and rural areas of the suburban zone of Szczecin as well as determination of the role of specific elements in formation of the actual increase in population of the investigated spatial units.  The scope of research covered years 1980-2020, while as regards the spatial scope - it was determined as the suburban zone of Szczecin comprising: one urban commune, 5 urbanrural communes and 11 rural communes. The presented research fits the subject matter currently present in the Polish scientific literature related to demographic changes in suburban zones of big cities.
