Abstract:

The article presents the issues of value transfer in the international aspect. The estimates concerned the transfer of the utility value of water to Poland, determined by the adjustment of real income. Although the BT method is mainly recommended for transfers from one country or area, the need for international transfers of economic value also grows. It is applicable to the estimation of public goods, which, due to the lack of a market, cannot be valued as typical private goods. The use of tools such as the CVM questionnaire or travel cost analysis are alternative approaches that provide theoretical foundations for the use of existing research for the valuation of similar objects in other regions of the world. In the above-mentioned studies, results from Australia, the USA and Great Britain were taken into account and applied to the case of Poland.
