Special Characteristics in FMEA Analysis

Abstract:

The paper intention is to create a comprehensive literature review of special characteristics technique taking into consideration the international standards and other papers that describe different approaches of the special characteristics in automotive industry. Beside that, the quality manuals of the most important Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) were considered (Audi AG, BMW Grup, Daimler AG, FCA, Ford and GM). The interconnections between the main standards that regulates the special characteristics technique, like ISO/TS 16949:2009(E) and (Verband der Automotiveindustrie) – Product creation – a process description covering special characteristics (SC) and other standards that regulates topics that are in the scope of the special characteristic technique like ISO 26262 (functional safety standard) , ISO 14001 (environmental management) , OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 (Occupational health and safety) [6], 2000/53/ec (end-of life vehicles) and VDA4902/3.2 (labeling) . On the other hand the FMEA analysis approach to use special characteristics is completely described, based on the VDA approach and most used ways from automotive industry.
