Specification of Processes for Implementation of Robotic Process Automation and Assessment of Maturity – Literature Review

Abstract:

The digital transformation of the industry, automation, robotics also known under the collective term Industry 4.0 have great potential not only in manufacturing processes, but also in business and support processes that are still strongly characterized by manual activities (as opposed to manufacturing processes). The new approach to automate processes manually performed in the administration and back-office brings the technology associated with artificial intelligence, namely robotic process automation (RPA). The aim of this paper is to explore literature and find out in which areas and processes it is possible to use RPA and what characteristics and features can be automated processes, also to determine the maturity of processes for automation and to assess the potential usability of maturity models for the implementation of robot process automation in industry.
