Abstract:
The article studies the impact of educational level on the wellbeing of the senior citizens in Tomsk region. Proposed regional assessments are of particular importance as the population of Tomsk region in general as well as the senior citizens traditionally has high educational status. The connection of education with other wellbeing indicators of the senior citizens allows estimating its impact on the life quality and highlights its special role among the priorities ensuring continuous wellbeing of the senior citizens. Education background of the older generation was defined on the basis of a specially designed questionnaire during a sociological survey. On the basis of mathematical statistical methods the authors evaluated the differences in the level of education by gender as insignificant, by the place of residence and occupation - as statistically significant, revealed significant connections of education with 32 other rank indicators of wellbeing, constructed their 7-factor model, identified highly significant correlation between the values of the education indicator and 5 factor indicators ranked by the strength of their connection with education: F6 (the ability to use a computer)> F7 (a sense of optimism)> F5 (social activity)> F2 (financial opportunities)> F1 (the level of skill in using computer technologies).
