Strategic Change Management Using Enterprise Architecture

Abstract:

Enterprises face the new challenges of a more dynamic, complex and competitive business environment. For them to succeed, they have to adapt to the changing business environment. On the other hand, the majority of changes fail. The authors, in their research, have been studying the reasons for change failures in order to design a framework supporting enterprise change. The framework combines knowledge and the best practices from the disciplines of change management, organizational theory, enterprise architecture and project management. It provides its specific methods of change analysis, planning and execution. The main goal of this paper is to introduce the authors’ original framework supporting enterprise change, present its use in a real enterprise environment and emphasize the role of enterprise architecture in change.
