Abstract:
Strategic management in the environment of non-profit organizations is a frequently discussed topic. Strategic management in the conditions of non-profit organizations is based on the concepts that are applied in the conditions of companies. The comparison of strategic management in the commercial and non-profit sector brings some differences. The most important difference is that the non-profit organization bases its management on its mission, which is superior to all partial processes, decisions and tasks that take place in the non-profit organization. The article focuses on strategic management in the conditions of these organizations and its aim is to identify a suitable method that would be universal and could be applied to the management of non-profit organizations, regardless of the subject of activity. As there are no specific management concepts that would be created exclusively for the non-profit sector, we decided to deal with two selected concepts - the classical and BSC method. We used the comparison methods that were used to assess the suitability of the classical control concept and the BSC control method, and based on the comparison, we chose the appropriate method, which we subsequently modified. The hypothesis was chosen on the basis of specific elements of non-profit organizations, namely that it will be necessary to modify the selected concept of management in non-profit organizations so that strategic management corresponds as much as possible to the needs of non-profit organizations.
