Abstract:
In Malaysia, there are basically three types of institutions offering tertiary education. There are public universities, private universities and also university colleges granting bachelor or advanced degree. Nowadays, non-attendance in tertiary education seems to be a growing trend. It is a frustrating phenomenon and yet there is a limited study on student’s non attendance particularly in private university. The literature suggests many possible reasons of student’s non attendance including student’s gender, attendance policy, personal issues, instructor behavior and technology. This paper looks at the reasons for student’s non attendance in Center for Diploma Program at Multimedia Univeristy Melaka campus, Malaysia.
