Study and Needs Analysis by SYSML Language of a UAV System and its Environment

Abstract:

SysML is a new modeling language that appeared not long ago defined by the OMG, seen as an extension of UML for modeling a wide range of complex systems with the objective of defining the needs of engineers in the design of industrial systems. Its scope of application makes it particularly interesting for the modeling and design of embedded systems generally composed of several subsystems. To introduce the use of SysML diagrams, we are going to put ourselves in the position of a company that wants to win a tender submitted by a customer, by developing a new UAV intended for video capture. Therefore, first of all, we will analyze the impact on the system design of each customer claim. The example of this type of application is that taking into account the interactions between hardware and software inherent in this type of system is a prerequisite for effective modeling. In this paper we describe our feedback on the experience concerning the modeling of a fixed-wing or rotary-wing UAV system in order to measure all the details of the industrial product development. In this study, we used SysML for system modeling with a general analysis of a system life cycle, the use of diagrams (use cases, requirements).
