Study on the Evolution of Financial Insurance in Romania

Abstract:

The unprecedented issues caused by the global financial crisis have revealed the true nature of exposure and weaknesses of the current risk management systems. In this context, the insurers providing financial guaranties and credit insurance have made concerted efforts to improve these systems and to adapt them to the new economic conditions. The main purpose of this study is to make an assessment of the Romanian insurance markets, focusing on the evolution of gross written premiums and net benefits paid in case of credit insurance, guaranties and financial loss. For this analysis, a set of indicators was considered for each type of financial insurance, which includes the evolution of gross written premiums, net benefits paid and number of contracts in force and reserves.
