Studying the Factors that Affecting the Adoption and Acceptance of E-Commerce in Jordan

Abstract:

Customers play a vital role within many major economies throughout the world. Their ability to successfully adopt and utilize the Internet and electronic commerce (e-commerce) is of prime importance in ensuring the stability and future survival of these initiatives. This paper highlights some of the important issues identified by Jordanian customers are relating to the adoption of internet related technology and analysis the factors that affecting the adoption and acceptance of e-commerce in Jordan. The study has drawn upon qualified questionnaires sent to two hundred customers. With a base response rate of 80% the data reveals interesting details relating to attitudes with regard to how customers perceive the internet and e-commerce, as well as the impact of barriers on their adoption and usage.

The results from analysis indicated that the security, easy of use, cost and service had a positive effect on the internet usage and e-commerce in Jordan. Also these results can be useful to overcome the obstacles facing the development of e-commerce and improve future e-commerce development in the Jordan.
