Abstract:

Globalization trends have led to increased diversity in the current work environment. In particular, internationalization has enabled various corporations to expand their domains in a bid to explore new market niches. As a result, individuals from different cultural orientations have been compelled to work in a similar environment. This has led to an escalation in the work related conflicts. Conflicts in the work place are also trigged by poor communication, rivalry, competition between personal interests and competition for scarce resources. This has had diverse implications on the holistic wellbeing of the individuals as well as the society. Currently, it is widely agreed that conflicts are a common occurrence in the work place. However, they need to be addressed in a timely and effective manner in order to curb relative negative implications. Managers and organizational leaders should be at the forefront when addressing the respective conflicts. For this reason, they need to be equipped with viable skills that are essential for dealing with the conflict effectively.

However, employees can also play an instrumental role in enhancing harmonic coexistence. Likewise, they need to be equipped with sufficient skills that they can employ to address the conflicts at different levels.
