Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans and Micromobility – Insights into Levels of Integration and Research Areas

Abstract:

Recently, sustainable development has emerged as a significant trend in contemporary economies. Sustainable development is the key to the development of economies, including urban ones. The implementation of sustainable urban development plans in cities aims to mitigate the negative externalities of residents' travel. The article discusses the possibility of integrating SUMP with one of the most ecological forms of daily movement of residents, micromobility. Due to the importance of SUMP and micromobility in sustainable urban development, consideration was given to their integration into urban space. This article aims to explore 5 levels of integration between SUMP and micromobility, and to identify future research opportunities. The article outlines seven levels of potential integration between SUMP and micromobility, as well as potential research areas.
