Today, Lean Management is used in many different ways in many companies. One of the primary goals of Lean Management is to reduce waste, in best case to eliminate it. One of the most common lean methods is the use of 5S and DOWNTIME. Both methods have technical and organizational focuses. The point security, an extra "S", for the transformation to 6S and DOWNTIMES promises further great savings and optimization potential, increases the employee satisfaction and increases the competitiveness in manufacturing and service areas by minimized operating costs
