Abstract:
Detailed supply chain risk analysis is performed for manufacturing industries of Pakistan using FMEA to find out the difference between global practices and the processes being followed as a measure to mitigate risks in supply chain networks of Midas safety Pakistan , Kia Motors, Dawlance and TBPK. Based on those findings recommendations have been made with references from published articles and case studies. These recommendations will help manufacturing companies of Pakistan to have firm control on their possible supply chain risks to perform efficient supply chain operations. This work can be used by other manufacturing firms as well because these supply chain risks are common in manufacturing industries of Pakistan. Recommended practices like rescheduling and increasing cycling count frequency will mitigate inventory variances, currency fluctuation can be handled by locking annual contracts with the supplier to keep the cost within budget, Advancement by introducing upgraded technology and implementation of lean practices can surely help to improve production numbers and reduce the wastages and production losses, Continuous monitoring preferably on monthly basis will help to design a specific action plan and finally the feedback from the suppliers very much important to measure the accuracy of actions taken to mitigate risks.
