Sustainable Development in the Regions on the Basis of the Stakeholder Concept

Abstract:

The emergence of the sustainable development concept is an objective process that became the response of the world community to the deepening and spreading of global issues of humanity. The sustainable development as a concept of management combines in itself the economic, ecological and social aspects, and determines the certain principles which should be adhered by the countries, regions, and enterprises when setting goals for preserving resources for future generations. Unfortunately, the concept of sustainable development did not yet achieve such spreading at the level of regions and activities of individual market subjects as at the level of countries, although some its aspects are already used (for example, social responsibility). However, this is just fragmentary individual elements of the general concept, which should by introduced on the system level. The achievement of the sustainable development of the region is possible only under condition of multiple transformations and changes at the enterprises, organizations and society that are functioning in the territory of this region. These changes concern first of all to the setting of goals of the regional development subjects specified, determination of the issue of ratio of private goals of the owners of the enterprises and social interest, and taking into account the concept of sustainable development and stakeholders.
