Sustainable Development Strategies for Intercultural Business Communication

Abstract:

The presented paper focuses on the importance of intercultural communication for business and managerial communication. After a brief theoretical survey of the topic of business communication rooted in intercultural communication, it moves to the research question which is whether intercultural business communication can serve as a valuable tool for companies to create competitiveness in the global market and whether it supports innovation and synergy processes. The research into the current situation of intercultural business communication was conducted in 2017 in several multinational enterprises doing based in the Czech Republic but doing business globally. The findings of the research lead us to the recommendation to pay and increase our undivided attention to intercultural courses in our universities to become more competitive and increase our innovation in the global market. Intercultural business communication as an academic discipline has a unique chance to become a pragmatic pursuit which can help companies and societies to reach a proper level of sustainable development in the global world.
