Abstract:
This research examines the practice of sustainable property management framework for property companies in Malaysia. The extent of damage to the environment from current unsustainable living today has driven building users and operators to adopt a more environmental practice among property companies in Malaysia. In this research, the procedures and methods of developing the sustainable property development framework examines some of the sustainable practice requirements for the practice of sustainability concept. In particular it examines the work procedures in property companies performance measurement by the green building index in designing the framework for sustainable property development. This paper will establish an imperative approach about green concept in property development to drive a greater sustainable effectiveness and to reduce liability from a pertinent environmental directive. This paper also theoretically evaluates the importance of sustainability concept to the property development sector in Malaysia. Given the increasing significance of sustainability issues – ¬especially in property development – amongst international property players, this paper enables more informed investment and decision-making regarding the implementation of sustainability in property portfolios.
