Sustainable Tourism in Small Communities: Opportunities and Challenges in Inowłódz Municipality

Abstract:

The article analyzes the potential of Inowłódz Municipality, located in central Poland, to foster sustainable development through tourism. It emphasizes how small communities can leverage unique natural and cultural attractions to boost local economies while preserving the environment. Sustainable tourism is presented as a tool to balance economic growth with environmental and social responsibility, protecting ecosystems and community well-being. The study employs methods such as field observations, questionnaire surveys, and a SWOT analysis to assess tourist attractions, identifying them as key elements of the area's tourism potential. It reviews key concepts of sustainable development and tourism, summarizes the analysis of the area's attractions, and presents survey findings on the potential for sustainable tourism. The article concludes by outlining the opportunities, challenges, and primary goals for tourism development in Inowłódz Municipality.
