Abstract:
Many regions are trying to integrate environmental and social aspects into strategic management because of importance of sustainable development issues. Nevertheless, these attempts are not always successful. The aim of this work is to expand the opportunities of strategic management of the region, by including sustainable development`s social and ecological elements into it. The complex of regional indicators of the region was developed using the analysis of literature and selected case studies. The proposed complex of regional indicators is based on a model that easily and clearly explains the entire strategy of the region, as well as the links between economic, environmental and social aspects. Based on the proposed model, a strategic map was developed and a set of indicators for the implementation of the sustainable development strategy was formed. These indicators were used as a basis for the regression analysis of indicators for the two regions of the Far North of the Russian Federation: the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions. As a result, the most significant indicators of sustainable development of these regions were identified and regression dependence for them was determined.
