Abstract:
The discussion presented in this paper is based on the research assumption that it is possible to analyse talent management in the context of project management in a network. The research problem involves exploring the possibility of using the practice of talent management to improve the effectiveness of multi-cultural project teams. The methodological approach was based on literature review and empirical studies. The literature review enabled exploration of the subject of talent management and project management. The studies were extended to include a new cognitive perspective in the form of project teams. The empirical studies covered four selected projects. The research sample was determined based on two criteria: an international environment of project execution and a multicultural project team. For the purpose of the study, the following research methodology was adopted: deductive method as part of the theoretical studies and a structured interview for the purpose of the empirical studies. An attempt was made to answer the following research question: Can the practice of talent management contribute to the improvement of multinational project teams? The research findings enabled diagnosis of the issues of talent management in the practice of project implementation and were used as a basis for drawing conclusions. General conclusions were formulated with respect to the following areas: international project environment, multicultural project teams, project type and project management. The theoretical and empirical studies confirm the possibility of using the concept of talent management in the practice of projects implemented in an international and multicultural environment.
