Talent Wellbeing and Employee Engagement: Does Predictive Analytics Play a Moderating Role?

Abstract:

The study investigates the influence talent wellbeing on job engagement. The study further explores the moderating role of Human Resource predictive analytics in a manufacturing firm in Nigeria. Data were gathered from three hundred and ninety-eight (398) employees of the selected organisation using a questionnaire with only two hundred and seventy-one (271) copies of questionnaire representing 68% returned and used for this study. Simple random sampling method was adopted in selecting the respondents while SmartPLS was used for the analysis of the formulated hypotheses as depicted in the research model.  Results show that predictive analytics moderates the relationship between talent wellbeing and job engagement. The study gives depth insight into talent wellbeing coupled with HR predictive analytics that can be leveraged for improved job engagement in the industry. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge in the areas of employee wellbeing, human resource analytics and work engagement in the manufacturing industry that empirical investigation on the identified variables and constructs had not been adequately researched particularly in Nigeria context. The study recommends that the management of the manufacturing firms should regularly carry out predictive analytics to identify wellbeing packages that can enhance employee’s productive engagement.
