Teamwork And Collective Work Engagement In Public, For-Profit And Nonprofit Organizations; The Case Of Poland

Abstract:

Teamwork is an important component of modern organizations. It may nevertheless be different in public, forprofit and non-profit entities marked by structural, cultural and personal differences. The aim of the article was to answer the research questions: are there any differences in the assessment of teamwork between employees of public, for-profit and non-profit organizations? and are there any differences in collective team engagement between employees of public, for-profit and non-profit organizations? To this end, a survey study was conducted in 2019 which collected responses from 315 purposively selected teams members in public, for-profit or nonprofit organizations. The Kruskal-Wallis test was performed to test the validity of the formulated hypotheses. The obtained results may suggest the existence of differences between the cognitive and affective-motivational aspects in the approach to teamwork.
