Technological and Economic Aspects Essential in the Mining of Raw materials and their use in the production of new grades of molybdenum-based steels

Abstract:

Sustainable development is a very important concept these days. Such development forces the use of innovative solutions in the broadly understood industrial production. Heavy industry in particular, which significantly contributes to the increase in environmental pollution, needs the implementation of modern technologies. The global automotive industry is an example of an industry that generates significant emissions of harmful greenhouse gases throughout the life cycle (LCA) of a product. The global production of wheeled means of transport requires the acquisition of significant amounts of steel as the basic technological material. In the era of continuous growth of conventional energy consumption, sustainable economic development is becoming the main goal and challenge in the present world today. The article presents the implementation of steel in the automotive industry, the prospects of replacing the currently used steels with steels having superior quality parameters, which will also allow the implementation of the idea of sustainable development. The areas of obtaining raw materials in the form of ores of elements constituting alloying additives, the volume of mining and fluctuation of their prices are also presented.
