Abstract:

The main aim of this paper is to explore the notion of hospitality from a territorial attractivity perspective.The purpose of this article is not to make an inventory of hospitality aspects in an exhaustive manner, but to get an overview of the key concepts related to hospitality and to focus on the existing link between hospitality and attractivity. The first question which crops up is the definition of hospitality. Could it be a lever of territorial attractivity? Our reflection has been spiced by the works of some authors, namely Viard (2000) who defend the thesis which stipulates that hospitality today is a major criterion of territorial attractivity.The main conclusions drawn from the state of art of hospitality highlight the extreme importance of developing residents’ hospitality which is a prerequisite for a successful and sustainable territorial attractivity.
