Abstract:
Rising terrorist attacks on educational institutions have disrupted the whole world in general and Pakistan in particular. Considering the frequent terrorist attacks on the education sector of Pakistan, in the given study we have examined the impact of terrorism-induced perceived stress on employees’ job satisfaction. Data for this purpose was collected during April-August 2017 through a self-administered questionnaire. The study sample consists of, 413 employees from different cities of the two most terrorism-affected provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). Regression analysis was carried out for testing the study hypothesis which revealed that terrorism-induced perceived stress has a significant negative effect on employees’ job satisfaction. Implications of the study based on the findings are discussed. Future research directions are explained, and possible strategies are developed to cope with employee’s terrorism-related stress and its impact on their job satisfaction.
