Abstract:
The article presents the experience of the organization of students’ work in a foreign language using the textbook. Textbooks aimed at a certain addressee, built on the basis of the competence model of a particular university graduate, are recognized as meeting the modern paradigm of education. In this regard, one of the important issues is the issue of providing textbooks of the educational process. The textbook is one of the effective tools for the organization of students’ work in a foreign language at the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University. The authors have developed a textbook in the discipline "Foreign language" for contact and independent work for students of the first and second courses in the direction 20.03.01 "Technosphere safety". This textbook is for optimizing the process of teaching general and professional English to students of non-linguistic universities. It is aimed at the development of professional, linguistic and communicative competences of students, and the development of the ability to establish and maintain personal and professional contacts, through the use of English as a tool of communication and interaction in the dialogue of cultures of the modern world. The textbook is a means of teaching general and professionally oriented foreign language communication and a means of forming general and professionally oriented communicative competences.
