The Academic Ombudsman In The Romanian University

Abstract:

Education represents the fundaments for the multiple layers of the knowledge society. In providing a solid university education, through different types of universities, the state is provoked to play an increasingly role. In order to put into practice the reform of the university system, universities can build their own internal structures to allow them to attain high academic standards. Having as a starting point the traditional role of the parliamentary ombudsman, the present paper puts into discussion, on the basis of a comparative analysis, the opportunity of establishing some ombudsman-type offices in the nowadays Romanian academic community.
