Abstract:
Biological agriculture is considered a viable solution that solves the agriculture’s negative impact on environment and on food quality. Due to economical, structural and social circumstances, Romania has a significant potential for organic farming, perhaps the largest in the EU-27. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the main directions of the organic market, taking into account the evolution of the number of registered operators in organic farming, cultivated area in ecological system, livestock raised in ecological system in Romania during 2013-2014. Also, we analyzed four main enterprises who activated in the field of organic market.
