The Application of the Dependency Structure Matrix in the Planning of Production Processes

Abstract:

This paper presents the use of the Dependency Structure Matrix in the reorganisation of production processes. The matrix records of the process structure used were characterised and discussed on the basis of an example. Two computer applications (PSM and MagProject) were used to reorganise the process selected. The applications used differ from better known and more commonly used network methods in their ability to analyse and optimise iterative processes. The results obtained were presented and compared to show the differences.
