The Biodiversity Research Outputs of the Megadiverse Asean Countries

Abstract:

Indonesia is included in 17 megadiverse countries together with two others Asean countries Malaysia and Philippines. Those megadiverse Asean countries have challenges especially on biodiversity-related research to develop, conserve and use of the natural resources. This paper focuses on determining the position of Indonesia among megadivers Asean countries on biodiversity research outputs. Using Scopus database the paper shows total publication, total publications with at least one local author, total publication with at least one local author cited, total citation of publications with at least one local author, total publications with local author as the first author, total publications with the first -local author cited, total citation of publications with the first - local author, total publications with single - local author, total publication with first - local author collaborated with other countries. This research showed the activities of Indonesia as a country with the highest biodiversity potential and the relative position with others megadiverse ASEAN countries.
