Abstract:

Purpose – The purpose of this research is to carry out funding impact factors of higher education overall and their peculiarities in Latvia. Design/methodology/approach – Authors summarize information about higher education funding impact factors all over the world and evaluate the characteristics of these factors in Latvia with such methods as scientific references, statistical data analysis and comparative analysis. Findings – Higher education funding is influenced by several factors. Due the impact of globalization these factors have similar trends around the world, but each country tends to have its own characteristics. Authors have found out the characteristics of higher education impact factors in Latvia in this research. Research limitations/implications – In this research used methods can be used for other national higher education funding impact factors. Originality/value – The authors offer higher education funding impact factors and estimate the characteristics of these factors in Latvia because in Latvia practically was not made such researches.
