Abstract:

The purpose of this publication is to assess the mutual impact of the level of development of the absorptive capacity of financial companies in Poland and the degree of advancement of their technological portfolio in the context of the transfer of innovative technologies. In the theoretical part, the authors synthetically present the essence of the concept of path dependence and absorptive capacity in the process of technological development and discuss potential relationships occurring within these constructs. In the empirical part, based on the results of their own surveys, they verify the occurrence of mutual dependence between the degree of development of the absorptive capacity of financial companies in Poland and the level of their technological advancement, as well as identify the effects that have been obtained and are innovative. Ultimately, the authors confirm that the technological development of financial companies in Poland is carried out in accordance with the assumptions of the concept of path dependence, affecting the increase of their innovation in operations.
