Abstract:

The paper presents the evolution of the accommodation capacities in Romania during 2011-2016. According to official statistical data, in Romania there is a reduced contribution of tourism to the formation of gross domestic product. This is 5% annually, compared with 9.5% achieved worldwide. In the paper are presented and analyzed a series of indicators, of which: the main tourist accommodation structures with accommodation functions at national level and on macroregions of development; tourist accommodation facilities at national level, tourist accommodation capacity by national tourist destinations; index of the use of tourist accommodation capacity by types of tourist accommodation structures in Romania etc. The data on this paper was taken from the website of the National Institute of Statistics.
