Abstract:
The aim of this article is to understand how the epidemic crisis will affect the functioning of the clothing industry and whether these changes will have a positive or negative impact on sustainable development. The analysis show, that most of the environmental consequences are related to the reduction of the use of non-renewable resources and the reduction of the environment devastation, while social factors mainly concern job losses and the consequences in terms of poverty and hunger risk for many regions in developing countries. What seems interesting is that the changes in the functioning of the fashion industry have had an unambiguously positive impact on environmental factors, but definitely negative on social factors.
