The Determinants Of The Market Potential In The Emerging Economies: An Evolutionary Approach For The BRICM Countries Case

Abstract:

The present paper takes as its starting point the presentation of a brief history of the BRIC group formed by the emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China. After the reviewing of some aspects connected to the birth of the BRIC term, are presented the priorities and the objectives of the member countries, the agenda of the meetings for the emerging economies of the BRIC group as well as similarities and differences between these countries. The paper continues by the presenting of the BRICM group which was born through Mexico's joining to the four economies previously mentioned. The determinants of the market potential for the emerging economies of the BRICM are refering to their presentation (market size, market growth rate, market intensity, commercial infrastructure, economic freedom, market receptivity and country risk) and also, to an analysis of their evolution during the period 2000-2010.
