The Development of GPT Knowledge Domain using Protégé Ontology Tool

Abstract:

Selecting and determining best Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) characteristics is a challenge in Malaysia.  Most of GPT selections are done either through consultations or Manual Book. Yet, selecting and representing the knowledge of GPT characteristics is yet to be studied and explored. Ontology has been widely used in research and covers areas in Management, Medical, Computer Science, Law, Educations and even Engineering.  This research will develop an expert system using Protégé 2010 ontology tool in developing a prototype of GPT.  The system will be able to assist both researchers and civil engineers specializing in Malaysia Stormwater and Geohazard in selecting the best and correct GPT.
