Abstract:
For each country, education is a national priority since it represents the most important means to pass and develop social, cultural and professional training values. Given the global context, characterized by the need of specialization in areas requested within the labor market correlated to the economic development trends, the improvement of educational system is necessary, this including the access to education and its quality. The education level is a key factor for the national development since it determines to a great extent the economic activity and productivity as well as the labor mobility, creating long term grounds for the existence of a higher living standard and an improved quality of life. In the first part of the paper we will focus on the role of school infrastructure in the development of education in the context of reaching the objectives foreseen in the Strategy for educational development. In the second part of the paper we made a correlation between specific indicators of the educational field in order to see which is the most influential one. In the last part of the paper we will focus on the conclusions and several recommendations regarding what Romania has to do in this field.
