The Diversity Of Organisation Members And Organisational Performance In The Light Of Literature Reports

Abstract:

In-depth analysis of literature in the field diversity management does not clear answer about the nature of the relation between workforce diversity and organizational goals. The article seeks, first of all, to verify the relationship between national diversity and organizational performance and, secondly, to examine the relationship between national diversity and the results obtained by the organizations composed of women and composed of men. The research objects were European football clubs. The main results of the studies disclosed that there is a positive relationship between national diversity and clubs’ performance. This positive relationship between national diversity and clubs’ performance pertains to both women’s and men’s clubs and it is stronger in the case of women footballers. However, the national diversity in women’s clubs is smaller than in the men’s ones. The article presents valuable insight – it calls into question the results of previous empirical studies concerning diversity management as the studies carried out on teams composed mostly of men can be different when women are the majority in those teams (and women constitute a higher and higher percentage of those employed).
