Abstract:

Despite the fact that reading is obviously important and indispensable, there is a decline of interest in it throughout the world. It should be concerned about the deterioration in quality of reading and the widespread of functional illiteracy. The last one, according to most experts, is caused by the informatization of society. The active use of digital technologies has a serious impact on the most important cognitive processes of a modern man, who is forced to perceive large amounts of information in the condition of a constant lack of time. The article presents the results of the author's research, the purpose of which was to find out how the Internet environment influences readers' youth practices.
