Abstract:
This study aims to examine the factors influencing whistle blowing practices among the employees in a public listed company in Malaysia. Specifically, this study examines the effect of job satisfaction, fair treatment and cooperativeness among the employees in the public listed companies. Using questionnaire survey on 137 employees, this study shows that there is a significant relationship between fair treatment and whistle-blowing practice. However, the remaining two factors which are job satisfaction and cooperativeness do not have significant relationship with the whistle blowing practices among the employees in the public listed companies. The findings of this study provides understanding to the management of the public listed companies in relation to whistle blowing practices. This study also provides awareness among the employees and subsequently, create a better and healthier environment in the organisation.
