The Effect of Kowledge Enablers to Knowledge Acquisition: Evidence from Higher Education in Malaysia

Abstract:

Knowledge acquisition is one of the aspects in the knowledge management (KM) and recently becoming and important area to be studied particularly in the context of higher education. The objective of the study is to determine the effects of knowledge enablers (strategic leadership, culture, information technology, HR activities) on knowledge acquisition. This is a case study approach employed a personally administered questionnaire to the personnel in High Education A. Sample is drawn from academic staffs in Department of Arts, Department of Mathematics and Informatics, and Department of Science. A number of 81 percent (93 respondents) had completed and returned the questionnaires. The results of this study confirm that three of the four variables considered in the theoretical framework are important in determining the effectiveness of knowledge acquisition in the organization.
