Abstract:
To improve the effectiveness of their activities, modern organizations, including Polish ones, particularly those operating in the financial sector, are increasingly using digital solutions. A technology that has been gaining popularity and importance in recent years is RPA - Robotic Process Automation. It enables the implementation of robotization projects for office processes. Activities that previously required significant employee involvement can be relatively efficiently transferred to programmable robots thanks to the implementation of RPA solutions, while the employees can engage in more creative activities that make full use of their competences. Interestingly, RPA technologies can be implemented in companies in a very democratic way, even without the participation of IT specialists.
The aim of this article is to prove the hypothesis, based on a real business case of a project implemented within one of the large Polish financial institutions, about the exceptional effectiveness of this type of solutions. Of course, this is only possible if the project is properly prepared and carried out. The article takes the form of a case study and is based on literature research, analysis of source materials and interviews with employees. The research covers the period from May 2023 to July 2024.
The first part of the article is a theoretical base of issues related to the robotization of business processes, the next part of the article is a presentation of a specific original business case along with a comparison of numerical data describing the modified process both before its robotization and after implementation.
