Abstract:
As a result of decentralization, education financing is not only one of the obligatory functions but also the resposibility shared between the central and local governments. One of the roles that the local government has to actively participate in helping education financial is the implementation of the Regional School Operational Assistance (Bantuan Operasional Sekolah Daerah – BOSDA) program. The BOSDA program is a school operational assistance program provided by the local government through the Regional Budget fund to assist operational expenses of middle and elementary level schools. The Bekasi Municipal Government is one of the local governments that provide BOSDA to both public schools and madrasas, which is rarely done by other local governments as they consider madrasas to be the concern of the central government. This study employed the post-positivist descriptive approach. The objective of this research is: to analyze the effectiveness of the BOSDA program for madrasa education in Bekasi Municipality. This study is expected to encourage other regions to take part in developing madrasas thereby contributing in enhancing access to education and achieving comprehensive education equality throughout Indonesia.
