Abstract:
Social media nowadays skyrocketing and becoming one of the most popular influential platforms for women’s rights advancement. The explosive growth in the number and use of social media in everyday life has given mixed blessings, it has blessed women to advance their rights and their voice but also act as double edge sword that might violate women. This paper highlights the background study of social media. Most significantly, this paper highlights how social media affects women's rights and protection. Consequently, this essay intends to look into international laws, regional laws, and domestic laws in Brunei Darussalam that promote and protect women's rights in the digital world. In conclusion, in order to keep up with the rapid advancement of technology, Brunei Darussalam needs to evaluate its current relevant legislation in order to harmonize it through the adoption of comprehensive laws.
